Urban Hauls!

So as promised, I have another haul post for you guys! This time its featuring stuff from my two favourite Urban stores, Urban Outfitters and its lower priced friend Urban Planet. Now I usually get flak for shopping at Urban Planet, but really... if I can find the same thing probably made in the same factory but 20 dollars cheaper...its a no brainer.

Without further adieu, here are my new pretty items..mainly in black and white I've noticed...

Leather High Waisted Shorts - $20

These are one of the cutest shorts I've seen in a very long time. I have been on the hunt for the perfect leather shorts and these babies are them! They are a high waisted leather short, that actually covers my whole butt cheeks! Which is extremely hard to do..I had purchased some from H&M before, but they never really hit that sweet spot of totally fulfilling my leather short dreams.

They look super similar to Amy Valentines vintage shorts.

Acid Wash Boho Jacket - $15

I found this beauty while browsing the sale section. It wasn't my absolute fave since I'm not really a fan of boho looks, and the wool panelling was a touch too boho for me. Putting it on changed my perspective though. It has an amazing fit and I love the shade of the acid wash. Now if only I could find pants in this same wash!

Dark Symbols Tank - $10

I have always loved symbols and even went into studying them ( semiotics ) so when I found this shirt I kinda fell in love with it. Its definitely a striking piece to add to a wardrobe and really fun to mix and match styles with.

Nabi Polish - 2/$5

Rose, Neutral, Hot Red

Since falls around the corner (already!!!) I thought I would buy some new fall polishes in colours that I don't have already. I absolutely loveeee the neutral and red shade, and the rose colour is a nice girly dark shade as well. They go on super smooth and only really need one coat to successfully cover your nail in an even coat. They do start to wear quickly but still amazing quality for the price.

Spike Earrings - $3 / Arrow Necklace - 2/$5

These little accessories are really cute. The earrings fit super close to the ear, and look really nice in my second ear holes beside my stretched ears. Usually any earring I put in takes away from the look of my ears but these are really nice and oddly enough quite subtle. 

The necklace was really cute and there's one at my work for like a billion dollars more. I love wearing it with a really busy top since I always like having a necklace on, and it fits high enough that I can still layer longer necklaces with it.

Patent Booties - $30

THEEESEEEE. Are so cute. They are so 90s with a nice modern heel. I am so excited to pair these with my thrifted school girl skirt for a Clueless kinda look

White Lace babydoll Top - $9.99

I love this top although I have yet to find something amazing to pair it with. It has a baby doll fit and is one of those shirts that only look good with nothing underneath, although there is no bra that looks decent with it. I love the quarter sleeve and the all over lace and try to wear it pretty much everyday until I psych myself out with the nakedness underneath.

Two Toned Shift Dress - $29.99

This is is what I call the perfect everyday flapper dress. It has such a 1930's vibe going on with its super simple cut and faux two piece look.  It is extremely shapeless which I love, and makes my curvier shape look elegantly boyish. I have been searching for something like this for a very long time, and I'm so glad I found this piece for such a great price.

Jail Bird Dress - $29.99

Another dress I have fallen in love with. It has a great shape and fit, which you can see in my last outfitting post. It makes me feel really girly since the bottom has some layers and cakes out in an oh so flattering way. I love pairing this dress with my Docs or Cut out creepers.

Cut Out Leather Ankle Boots - $79 

Speaking of cut outs, I am loving these boots! I almost bought them online but ended up waiting, and found them in store! They are super comfortable and look great with thigh high socks, or any socks in general. The heel is not too high and the leather detailing makes my ankles look less like popsicle sticks.

Nail Art - holo & eggplant

I am finally back after my weekend turning 22! My birthday was last Thursday (July 11th) and I spent the time at home with friends and family, but more about that in a later post! Today's post will just be a nail art post, short, sweet and to the point!

The 2 colours I used were my holo polish from bornprettystore.com as well as one I bought from walmart called eggplant frost. The holo polish has a rainbow effect in the shimmers and the eggplant frost has a shimmery blue mixed in with a gorgeous deep eggplant purple colour.

I did a statement nail with the holo polish and then also did statement jewels on my thumbs just to add some sparkle. I used some jewels I took off of some old costume jewelry as well as some nail art jems I had purchased from Urban Planet.

I was sent the Holo Polish in colour 7 which is a silvery colour with the rainbow sheen to it. I had wanted to try the green shade which I thought was colour 7, but that's ok with me. I'm happy getting anything at all! 

The polish itself is a smaller bottle, containing 6ml of polish, and a really nice brush head which isn't too big, too small or too stiff. 

The price of the polish is set at $12.88USD but on sale right now for $5.99USD which I think is a more attainable price for the size and amount you get of the polish. It also comes in 12 beautiful shades from the silver I have, purples, blues, greens and black shades. There is definitely something for everyone with these shades, and really helps spice up some nail art.

Depending on the look your trying to achieve you could definitely use one coat of polish, although two gives off the best results. It dries really quickly and application is neat and not streaky. The first layer is quite sheer but the second gives off the perfect vibe of holo-goodness.

I only took off a half point because the bottle is quite smaller then what I'm used to although for born pretty products it is about the same size as some of their other polishes. The sale price does help make this a purchase that you will love and not one that will hurt your pocket later.

The formula goes on smooth and non streaky, and you don't need to load up the brush at all. It is for sure something i would recommend to anyone looking for a really cool and unique way to pump up their nail art or even just to have a gorgeous manicure.

I finally have something new to review for all of you nail art lovers!! I recently received a new package from BornPrettyStore.com, that had a few fun items to try. Upon opening the small envelope, I saw a nail plate, magnet wand, stamp, their card as well as a large wrapped object. After struggling to unwrap the bulbous thing, I was excited to find a gold magnetic polish!

 

 

 

Not going to lie, I have no clue how to use these products, since I usually do any nail art by hand with just polish or little embellishments, but I'm excited to figure it out and show you all some new designs!

Today was a pretty uneventful day. Woke up, watched movies, went to work..the usual. Me and a good friend of mine hung out after, and since I was hella broke, we decided that id help her do her nails. 

Now as some of you readers may know, I love everything to do with nails, so of course I agreed :D. She wanted a design which has started to become very popular recently. It almost looks like the famous painting by Piet Mondrian (i think its called composition #2 with line and colour), but with brighter colours and more focused lines. 

My friend chose 5 colours, and then black to make her lines and let me go to it! This is the finished result.

 She loved them and I thought it looked pretty good as well. I was pretty happy with it, since this is the first time I had ever done another person's nails outside of my family, with a design. She was ecstatic about it too! :)

BornPrettyStore.com Nail Polish Review!!!!

As you may or may not remember from a previous post *cough right here cough*, I ordered some wonderful items from an amazing whole sale site called bornprettystore.com! They were so kind as to let me choose something to try out from their site, and being the nail polish junky I am, I obviously chose to try out a very interesting polish.

Before I get into the review, I just wanted to say that these are all my own opinions on every thing I try, whether I bought it or it was sent to me. I feel there's no reason to review something if its lies.

The polish I chose is called the Magic Purple/ Pink Mood Changing Polish (#3). As the name suggests, its a colour changing polish using shades of dark purple and a really pretty soft pink colour! On the site its priced as $7.11USD, which for the amount you get vs how many times you have to re apply, is kinda much, in my opinion. With that said, that is with free international shipping, so I cant be too harsh. The colours are beautiful and change depending on the temperature of your hands, Purple when your cold and Pink when your warm!

Like I said previously, it takes a while to get a nice coat of this polish. The first 3 coats go on very streaky, and have a really dull/ tacky look too it texture wise. After doing about 4 coats and a top coat, I got great coverage and a really nice look to my nails.

Drying Time: 5/5

This is the fastest drying nail polish Ive ever tried. By the time I finished one nail and moved on to the next, it was dry. It didn't cause any imperfections when putting on multiple layers which is nice, and it took me only about half an hour to have perfect, fully dry nails!

Colour: 4.5/5

I didn't know how this polish would turn out, but the colours are really beautiful. I was expecting more pigmented of a purple, but it almost looks like a greyish purple. Think a dusty and delicious piece of grape hubba bubba gum. The pink on the other hand is breath taking! I love the effect of the colour change, since my body temperature is random I always have a changing effect going on.

Over All: 4/5

Everything about this polish was amazing. The colour, how the colours changed and drying time were all pretty amazing and exceeded what I thought. It is a smaller portion of polish for the 7 dollar value, but I'm a big cheapo, a lot of my friends think its definitely worth the price. The only thing I didn't like about this polish was the initial look when I put it on. I was pretty distraught thinking I was gonna have weird streaky nails, but a good top coat and a few layers of this baby put those thoughts to rest!

I really do recommend this line of polish! its really cool and a great buy. The colour combinations are like nothing Iv seen from other brands iv been exposed to, and the way they change is mesmerising. If not for this polish, definitely check out the site! there is a lot their for everyone, and amazing gift ideas as well!! Also don't forget to use my coupon code for your purchase!! Born Pretty Haul! (kinda long >.<) Discount codeee

I know, I know, this is a long over due post, BUT I'm finally reviewing my order I received from a wonderful little site called Bornprettystore.com. They specialise in mainly nail art, polish, makeup and other beauty supplies, but also have a wide range of apparel, hair products and other great nicknack's and jewelry. Since it was my first time ordering, I decided to get just a few items that iv been searching for online, and some things that were so reasonably priced I couldn't pass them up.

Did I fail to mention that this is a wholesale site? Cause it definitely is! 

I ordered a total of 6 items which came to a whopping 20 dollars. Amazing right?!?!?! Ya, I know, AND there was free shipping, so I'm pretty sure this is my new favourite go to site for everything!

Everything came decently packed with bubble rap and foam paper, but they were unfortunately crammed into a smaller envelope then I thought. I usually get items in small boxes, so I was a little concerned with it being in an envelope with the size of the items. Other then that everything went swimmingly! The postage was from Hong Kong to Canada and it took about 3 weeks, which wasn't too bad at all, and all of the products were in great condition and weren't sketchy knock off items!! (YAY) I highly recommend using this site for your beauty and nail needs! Now onto my items!!

Something that I've always wanted to try were those Japanese strawberry hair rollers. I had seen them around for a few years, but was always sceptical of trying them until more people started using them, especially after their air time on the super popular Dream High 2 TV show. After that a lot of stores raised their prices and lower the amount you get for them. I actually saw one store selling a pack of 4 for 15 bucks! (Rip off!) But this lovely store had a pack of 6 for only 4.08 USD!!! Ya I pretty much died of happy at that!

The next items I bought were an item that I feel like I desperately needed...EYELASHESSSS!! Not many people know / believe that I am part Asian (although small its totally there) and one of the most prominent trait I have is my eyelashes. :( They are short, stubby, straight and pointed down...just wonderful >.<. So I decided to try my luck at those 10 pair boxes :)

I got 2 different types, one very natural box, and a more dramatic gyaru point style box. At 4.23 and 4.83 USD, they were both very reasonable, and one also came with a very good quality eyelash / lid glue as well! Defiantly worth it! Both styles are very wearable and easy to apply, although I do need some help with blending my own terribly  resilient  lashes, but so far so good!

Since I do a lot of nail art, I thought i would try my hand at some actual brushes. I usually like to just use the brushes that come along with the polish, but since I'm becoming more advanced with my art, maybe I should try some real techniques. I got a 15 piece nail art set which includes 3 drawing tools, 7 painting tools, 2 liners,1 dotting tool and2 fan brushes for nail art effects for only 4.74USD. So far I haven't used them, but from what i can tell they are all very good quality with no loose pieces or bristles.

The last thing I got was just a random item that I saw before checking out the rest of my items, and at only 3.47USD it didn't hurt adding it. I got a little epi stick, which as you may already know is just a tightly coiled spring with two spongy bits on either side. Its used as a hair remover for small areas like the face and hurts like a mother!! >.<

After a long long day of work, I came home to find not one but two lovely packages waiting for me on my bed :). The first was my 3 lenses I ordered from Solution-Lens coming all the way from Thailand! The next was coming from Hong Kong, and inside were all my goodies from Borne Pretty Shop! Ill be doing all those reviews later this / next week, but here's a sneak peak!

Now for todays happenings. Before work I had a few minuets to kill so I wondered to Ardene's, a slightly random tween / wholesale / nick-nacky store. You really cant go wrong with deals like 2 for $20 on shoes, 5 for $10 on hair and socks and 2 for $6 on nail polish and makeup! 

Todays venture resulted in a whole lot of 2 for $6 items...aka their entire selection of nail polish and also a sporadic compulsion to buy their jumbo liners in black and silvery white.

Although they aren't Sephora grade eyeliners, they work super amazing for 3 bucks. They are nice and soft, and the colours show up and stay on for a decent length of time. Of course the downsides are that it eventually fades/ droops and make me look like a sleepy witch, but you know what..screw it its a decent quick fix.

Out of This World!!

 On one of my recent posts, I talked about my Sally Hansen Nail Hardener, and I'm finally back to my old nail quality. Long, stong beautiful nails!! so since I was so happy with my nails, I decided to get back to something I love, Nail art!!

Today was my first attempt at anything in the last 2 years, so I thought id do something kind of fun and abstract. For some reason I thought of doing Galaxy nails, which turned out pretty great if I do say so myself!

I used 5 different colours, and my nail hardener as the base and top coat! I think it turned out pretty awesome!! I just wonder how long it will last for!
