Birthday Haul...and some other bits and bobs

A week late, but hey.. Ive been working and doing grown up things ok. BUT I finally have the first half of my birthday haul! I say first half because I'm sure I'm going to use the rest of my birthday money to buy a lot more things I don't need, so without further adieu....

the neatest pile you will ever see in my room.

First up, ill start with my gifts;

As a beauty card holder at Sephora, every year for my birthday i get a different gift. Last year i got the sugar lip tint and lip balm. This years is the beauty duo from Benefit, their amazing mascara and champagne sheer highlighter.

These are all little gifts my friends got me. A sweet gold stud bracelet, black tunnels as well as another pair of silver and jeweled tunnels. My ears are stretched to a 0 so these are some of my new ear candy!

Do you guys remember making those thread bracelets on the bus coming home from school in the 90s? My friends do and they bought me a bunch of em! (This is only half..)

Now for things I bought on behalf of me being old!
Starting off with items from H&M

These pants were in the sale section. The blue wash jeans were 15 bucks and the grey acid wash was 12. I love going and getting amazing deals like these!

This skirt is another really cute item that was on for 19.95. It is full stretch and has a zipper up the back but its super short. My legs are a little too long to wear this successfully without any mishaps...although there will be an outfit post with it soon :D STAY TUNED FO DAT.

Only the tights in this picture are from H&M. A 4 pack for 6.95...cant go wrong with that!
I also bought some vitamin E oil which was on sale (yay sale)

I have been eyeing this purse for weeks now, and finally treated myself to it. It comes in black and this white, and they both have the gold spikes on the bottom. I was so torn between the black and white, but I love that the white has the statement black piping around it.

The last item from H&M is this super gorgeous light weight cardi. It was only 14.95 and features a sweet geo star print. As light weight as it is, its still way too hot to wear out in this disgusting heat were having.

Now onto Zara, which is currently having a HUGE summer sale, although only a few things caught my eyes...and those things are...

This striped tulip kind of striped skirt. It has pockets and is a nice length although I did buy a size or two too big. I bought a medium, but if I want to wear it at my waist I just fold it over and put a bobby pin in the side to hold it together. I do like it big though since it will give me a great item to look forward to outfitting in the fall. Also this skirt was 19.99

Next up are these beauties!

I absolutely loveeee these boots. They were just there waiting for me. All alone. My size. Destiny.
At 29.99 i had to pick them up and I literally hugged them to my chest and didn't put them down or take them out of my site the entire time! I have seen other bloggers wearing these a while ago, but I'm sure they didn't get them for the steal price I got them for!

And last, but not least my purchases from Urban Planet.

I am absolutely in love with this skirt. I have been looking for a black faux leather mini for such a long time, that I nearly gave up until I saw this beaut. I love the cut of it and that it has the zipper pockets, although its quite small....even though its a size large. It was only 17 bucks though, so that's not bad at all.

Another thing I obsessed over was this galaxy print crop tee that I bought for 10 bucks. Its getting a little lost in my quilt but the colours are mainly purple, pink and orange and there are moons, starts and planets through out the whole thing. Anyone that knows me knows how much  love astrology and this top makes me feel so good when I wear it.

And that is it for my haul... for now

Coco-Fashion.com online fashion website!

Here in Canada, all fashion styles are acceptable and encouraged with our vast and diverse population. In Toronto for instance, you can find everything from Goth to traditional cultural wear, to preppy and so on. Sometimes it is just hard to come by the right items in town, or their too expensive, so thats when  I turn to online shops. One I recently stumbled onto was coco-fashion.com. They mainly sell korean based womens and mens fashions as well as accessories at discounted prices.

As you can all probably already tell, I draw most of my fashion choices and inspiration from mainly korean online stores and other street fashion websites. I love how koreans can mix things to look youthful but still sexy without going too extreme. With that said, they are also really good at mixing edgy or grungy pieces while still looking acceptable, something I've been trying to incorporate into my own wardrobe recently. What I usually do as a shoppaholic, is look through all sorts of fashion and style media, get different ideas and styling tips, and then pull it together with cheaper alternatives.

For instance this outfit here is one im in love with from the drama She is WOW.  It consists of a colourful moto jacket, white graphic tee and leather pants worn by the character Yoo Nam Hee.

(sorry for the terrible screen shot :/)

This is how I would put together a similar outfit using items from coco-fashion:

3/4 Sleeve Floral Print Blazer: 10.03

White Loose Deer Print Tee: 7.97

Black PU leather skinny pants: 12.73

For my body type, a longer style tailored jacket would work better with the skinny leather pants. also with the larger print on the white tshirt, the floral and black lapels help to balance it out. Also saving me a lot of money!I think all together this would make a really super cute look!

In this club scene, Yoo Nam Hee is wearing a really cute strapless red dress. While looking on the website I found one almost exactly the same! All that would be needed is a simple chunky necklace to finish off this classy look.

Red Lycra&Chiffon Gorgeous Tube Dress: 9.56

Another style i really like from the drama "She is WOW" is one of club looks. The white abstract dress and glittery bomber style jacket. This is how i would do it using more items from coco-fashion.

(again, another terrible screen cap.. but you get the gist)

Red sequin short jacket: 10.67

White Fitted Minni Lady Dress: 10.51

Again, not exactly the same style, just a representation of the ideas and concepts behind the styling of the outfit. The fitted style and sexy cut outs near the neckline make a sleek and sophisticated club look. The sequined jacket also helps to bring a little street wear style into it and make the dress a little bit less serious.

The store itself also features top trends in fashion, and shows the best selection of their items that fit those trends. The site is very easy to navigate around on, so it helps make it shoppable and easier to find what your looking for out of their hundreds of styles.

A few more of my favourite items are:

Long purple maxi skirt: 9.56

Exotic patterned pants: 10.98

Blue elastic waist tunic: 9.08

Light blue globe skirt: 10.83

Black british style jean jacket: 13.05

Long sleeve bird blouse: 9.71

Blue double zipper bag: 14.79

Black zipper shoulder bag: 14.00

Take a look to see if you like anything on their site! They have a great selection and world wide shipping! What are some things your loving from Coco-fashion?

[Beauty Haul] Keautystore.com

As promised I am writing about my amazing experience with Keautystore.com and the wonderful items I purchased! As I had mentioned in my last lens review, I had recently made a purchase of 4 items off of their website for the first time since the company switched names and moved to Korea. Needless to say, their service was stellar! The few I came into contact with were very helpful with any problems I had, and all emails were answered within 24 hours.

I have always kept a watchful eye over all of their new products coming through the store, as well as prices on their amazing hair pieces and makeup. After purchasing a set of clip in hair extensions from the original shop, I was hooked. Finally a few weeks ago I decided to get a replacement pair since I had worn the originals to death.

$20.28 CAD

While looking through the hair section, I also found a gorgeous clip in ponytail hair piece as well as a bun up do hair piece on sale. I figure I needed these since my short hair has been driving me crazy. I cant even make a proper bun T__T.

$29.70 CAD

The last thing I ordered was an eyebrow razor since I have also taken to shaving off half of my eyebrows recently. Call me crazy, but its sooo much easier drawing on the tail end of the eyebrow then shaping it... for me anyways.

$2.80 CAD

All together my total came to $64.52 (I had also ordered a pore brush, but it was out of stock), but with points collected from my previous orders as well as item reviews on their website, I received about 20 dollars off and only paid $42.74. That is with shipping included as well!

As I had mentioned before, the person I had emailed over the pore brush was extremely helpful and even tried to find the next best item on their site as a substitute. Unfortunately the only similar item was about 3 times more then I wanted to spend, so they refunded me my money back on paypal immediately, no if, ands or buts about it. Something iv always been nervous about was getting refunded from an online shop, but at Keautystore, there is absolutely no hassle!

After about a week and a half, I came home to find a large box hanging out of my mailbox from Korea. Needless to say I was thrilled and literally ran inside to see what I received. I am always super impatient while waiting for a package, and I was nervous to see how long I had to wait, but it took almost the same amount of time it would have taken from their old location in Canada. This made me a very happy camper!

It was alot nicer then this..I just kinda tore through everything right away before taking a picture :/

The box was nicely sealed with no cracks or bumps in it from its journey. Opening it I could see everything laid out neatly all packaged and only slightly bent. Everything arrived safe and sound, and I'm so happy to start using my items and post for you guys!

sooo many samples <3

If you would like to order from Keautystore.com, make sure to use my coupon code: mikkidoll to get 5% off your entire purchase! I really wouldn't be talking up this store if it wasn't worth the hype. They are definitely a company I will buy more from in the near future!

Christmas Wish List

Its about that time again, Christmasssss! Although there is no snow on the ground right now, and I don't have a Christmas tree at my new apartment, The festive music and holiday sales are starting to churn out. Today I finally started some Christmas shopping, and have gotten quite ahead....also grabbing some  things for me in the process ^^.

There are a few things I am hoping to receive in my stocking, and wrapped up this year...and to any family members reading, I hope this helps you guys out!

First of all i am really hoping to get a new sewing machine!! I have wanted one for the past few years ever since 4 years ago when my last one broke...to death :(.

The next items i am hoping for are actually all off of wholesale sites. I have never actually bought anything off of any wholesale sites, but I always fill up a cart of things I want, and look at the price and imagine buying them...and how easily I could do so. All of the items this time are bags or clutches.

From Sammydress.com, I really want these three bags:

This bag in black which is only $12.21CND

This gorgeous blue bag is $16.67CND

And also this brown shopper bag which is only $11.75CND

All together  with shipping they would come to $67.71CND which isn't bad at all! for 3 good sized bags, I would say that this is a steal, even if they aren't the most amazing quality.

A few other bags I found on Wholesale-dress.net that I like and want to purchase / find in my gifts are this brown shopper bag, just like the other one...(just in case the first is sold out), which comes to $8.35 USD + $16.19USD for shipping.

This beige bag  which is $9.19USD

And last but not least this brown envelope bag which is only $3.96USD.

These last to bags also have $12.68USD added for shipping which equals $50.37USD all together. Again, not too bad for  these bags, when here they are at least 20-60 dollars.

Some other things I want are a wide brimmed hat since they look so good on everyone, and maybe something with a little fur. Maybe just a furl stole or collar so i can add it with different outfits. Leather gloves would be nice too....hmmm..

Other then that there is really nothing else I really want or need. Everything I can probably buy myself at some point so the only thing I really really am hoping for is a new sewing machine! <3

Well that is it for tonights post! ..Keep looking forward to a mystery review! i just haven't thought of what to review yet!  Goodnight wonderful readers!

None of the above pictures were taken or are owned by me, All pictures were found on the sites linked to them.

My Top 10 Shopping Tips

A lot of my friends ask how I have enough money to afford all my clothes, makeup and gadgets, on a part time retail salary, and still have enough to pay rent and eat. I have s few shopping tips I have learned over the years to help me save money, and be able to spend accordingly to help stay on top of the seasons trends.

Tip #1:  SAVE AND BUDGET

The first and i think most important tip is to SAVE SAVE SAVE! And by that I mean put some of each of your paycheck away in a savings account for a rainy day, house or car. I usually take half of my paycheck and put it away in a savings account. Getting paid every 2 weeks helps to build up some cash, as well as fund your spending habits. With the other half of your money left over, budget out necessary costs like rent, food, bills etc, as well as what you have left over to shop

Tip #2: GO THROUGH YOUR CLOSET

After saving some of your money, really go through your closet. Take out things that you don't ware anymore and give them to goodwill, sell them, or do a swap with friends! That's a great way to really know what you need, what you have, and how you can mesh new trends in with items you already have.

Tip #3: PLAN

If you're like me, you like to know whats going on in fashion, and you like to stay up to date with your wardrobe. One thing I do to help me stay ahead in fashion as well as finances, is to make of list of you 10 must haves for the season. This will help you focus on spending your money on only those items and not going crazy buying everything in fashion, which can get insane and pretty pricey.

Tip #4: BUDGET 2

Even though we've already budgeted out money once, you want to do it again for each item on your must have list. Split up your spending money based on how much you are willing to spend on each item, and if you need sooner or later. If its something you can wait on, that gives you time to save for it, and also to really think if you need it.

Tips #5: SECOND HAND, MALL OR DESIGNER

Another question you have to ask is whether you need to have the newest designer item, if you can find it in a mall or if you can visit a thrift store, and get the same look for much much less. I do have some friends that only buy name brands and designers, where as i could care less, and get the same wear and look for much less. If its a fashion item I say go for the knock off. Ya it might only last throughout that season, but how often does that fashion last longer then that? If your going to spend alot of money, it would be better to put it towards a basic or long lasting functional item.

Tip #6: PRE-SHOP

Before even leaving the house to find those 10 wonderful items, do a little pre-shopping online. No, don't actually spend any money, but shop around online for those specific things. Check the prices, the different styles, and also it will help you to plot out whereyour going to shop to spend your money efficiently and without getting side tracked by other outfits. All that's really left to do is find them in real life, try em on and see weather they work for your vision.

Tip #7: LEARN THE RETURN

Always know what the return policy is for each store, and item you buy. This will help in case when you bring the item home, you get that pang of buyers remorse. Also find out if the store has any other policies like price adjustments or no cash back.

Tip 8: KEEP THOSE RECEIPTS

Keep all of your receipts when shopping. I keep all of mine in a little organiser I got from the dollar store. It really helps if i ever need to return something, or need to remember what different stores  return policies are.

Tip #9: DON'T BE AFRAID

Alot of my friends think I'm bold or shameless for taking back things that I don't want, or end up not wearing. Don't be afraid to return items, since that is what a return policy is for. The worst waste of money is buying something that you end up not liking or something that you need to buy more items to match with. Being stylish is all great and such, but its better to be able to pay the bills.

Tip #10: EXPENSES

At the end of each month, add up all of your expenses, any and everything that you have bought, and see if you've stayed within your budget. Its a great way to see if your managing your money well, or if you need to work a little harder to stay in bounds.

Speaking of new toys and shopping, I bought a new computer today! The 13 inch Macbook Pro and the Bamboo Splash<3! Now i will be blogging regularly, and also figuring out how to do some awesome drawings! Stay Tuned for more later! :D

October Haul cont.... -___-" late post!

It seems I have spoken way too soon on my last monthly haul post. Alas, on the last day of October I kind of splurged... It was rainy and cold and such a sad day, soooo shopping cured my bad day blues!

As you can see in the picture, I bought a few shoes and a new jacket. I also got a new lipstick and a really cute clutch!

This is the lipstick I bought, Revlon's super lustrous lipstick in the colour sultry sable. Its the perfect wine colour for this season, and the perfect match for my skin tone.

The clutch I bought was from Anthropologie, and I love it to bits! its the perfect size to hold everything i need, but small enough to go with an elegant dress or a hot night out dress. At 28 dollars it was a great buy or this chic and thoughtful bag. It is actually a constellation bag, which has a constellation on the front, your birth sign on the back as well as 3 words best describing your sign on the inside. They come in grey with silver, and gold and cream.

(Cancer : Protective, Intuitive and Nurturing)

A close up picture of my new shoes!! A pair of black suede wedge boots at 30 dollars...

And i caved and bought these gorgeous black, suede and spike Lita knockoffs for 35 dollars.

Last but not least, I bought this really cute, 2 toned leather and tweed jacket. Its actually extremely warm and gives off a really nice, crisp look. It only cost me 20 bucks which was a great price from its original 64 dollars.

Stay tuned for my next post, my October Beauty and Health Favs!! Also I have been nominated for the blogging Leibster Awards, so be sure to check out my upcoming post with my nominations and some questions about me!! Hope everyone is having a great day!
