Holika Holika on Queen St!

I have noticed in the last little while that a lot of my favourite Korean brands have not only started shipping to Canada, but are also opening shops in Canada. Not just Canada, but in the city where I live! This is definitely a rarity since its usually hard enough to order things online and have it even be able to ship to my home.

The newest shop to open was Holika Holika, which I stumbled upon yesterday during my usual downtown Toronto ambles on my day off. As I was walking down queen street, I had to do a double take at the Holika Holika lettering across the street. Needless to say, I figured I was just having a momentary laps in sight, but low and behold, 15 min before they closed their doors on their opening day, I ran in to see what they had available.

I was so surprised I didn't even get a chance to take pictures of their beautiful products or clean clear layout, but I did pick up a berry lip tint before they announced the tills were closing.

Holika Holika Holy Berry Tint 01:

There are three shades in this collection;

01- red toned
02- pink toned
03- orange toned

I chose to purchase 01 since it gave off a more mature and flattering colour then the pink toned 02. All three looked great on and were reasonably priced at 10 dollars, but I figured I would just get one to test out before I went too crazy.

The texture at first is quite wet and sticky, but within minutes it sinks into your lips and feels like you don't have anything on. During the first application, I don't advise licking your lips because this stuff tastes terrible. It gives off a super fruity lip smacker-esque sent but the taste is quite the opposite. I was happy though that you don't taste anything when its settled into your lips.

Application:

Dabbed

Swiped

Layered

Over all I really like this product, as a lip tint and liquid blush. I recommend it to anyone who wants a natural look - over the top exaggerated colour with a matte finish. It is compact enough to through into your bag, but packs a punch that you can gage and wear all day.

I hope you enjoyed this review!

Efoxcity Necklace!

I've always loved getting thing in the mail ever since I was a little girl and me and my aunt would send each other letters. Now that I'm grown up, its still a thrill to open up the mailbox and see a new package with my name on it.

This week, I received a necklace from a site I recently mentioned in a previous post from Efoxcity.net. I have been wanting a necklace like this for quite some time, but couldn't find the right colour or the right price. On efoxcity they had 3 different colours to choose from and they were all 11 dollars.

I chose the gold necklace since I love that it gives off an effortlessly chic style and can add a little sophisticated edge to any outfit. I see myself wearing this with a white fitted blazer and some cute printed trouser pants and heels.

I could even flip it 360 and do an edgy outfit with a white printed top, goth lace maxi skirt and my spiked lita's, while still adding that bit of sophistication using the necklace.

The shipping for this item came relatively fast, about 2 weeks from china in the regular mail. It was packaged in a simple yellow envelope with bubble wrap on the inside, and folded inside in a little plastic bag.

I was happy that even though there was no additional protection during its journey that there was only a minor flaw with some of the links being a little bent. Nothing was broken and I could easily bend them back into place.

Talking to the people from the site was a very pleasant experience as well. They were polite and answered any questions I had as best they could and in a very timely manner. There were no issues with understanding each other, and I didn't get any bad vibes from them or this site at all.

Over all I would say my experience ordering and working with this site was one of the best I have encountered. With their polite staff, easy to shop website, and fast shipping, I had no worries about my item  and am very pleased with its appearance and style.

I definitely recommend trying out this site as they have an amazing range of stylish jewelry as well as clothing for meant and women. But don't take my word for it, try em out yourself!

What is your favourite item from their site?

[Review] Top Shop Lipstick = Charmed

Today I thought I'd do a review on something Iv had for a little while, but recently started loving and wearing almost daily. This is in fact my first ever Top Shop lipstick in the colour Charmed.

I have loved Top Shop products for a few years, but never had the chance to try them out since I was only able to order online. With customs, converting prices and me not having a credit card, all I could do was stare at all of the British beauty bloggers raving about the creamy formula and gorgeous colours that the Top Shop beauty line had.

The main blogger that turned me onto the brand was Becca from Voussontbeauetbelle.co.uk so when we finally got a Top Shop here in Toronto, I headed straight for the makeup section! Since it was a little while ago, I don't remember exactly how much I paid, but it couldn't have been more then 12 dollars. The colour Charmed jumped out at me right away since I had just received my set of Lioele lip pencils and the orange was my favourite. I find the orange colour stands out enough while still complimenting my skin tone and over all brightens up my complexion. They do have a wide range of colours in stock on the website as well so there is definitely something for everyone.

It is a light pastel tangerine colour that can look almost clownish depending on how much you layer it up. If you put on two sweeps of it, it comes out a gorgeous orangey shade which isnt too over powering.

The formula goes on smooth, and depending on how pigmented you want your lips, you can sweep it over once for a sheer matte look or layer it up for a full bright colour. I love the creamy texture and how gradually it fades, becoming more subtle instead of coming right off.

Here are some pictures of me wearing it!

[Nail Art Review] Born Pretty Holo Polish

This is a Sponsored Review -All Reviews are done unbiased and honestly

Today I have another sponsored review brought to you buy Born Pretty! They often give bloggers opportunities to test and review new or hot products they carry in their store, and I jumped at the chance to bring you guys a new great review!

I was sent the Holo Polish in colour 7 which is a silvery colour with the rainbow sheen to it. I had wanted to try the green shade which I thought was colour 7, but that's ok with me. I'm happy getting anything at all!

The polish itself is a smaller bottle, containing 6ml of polish, and a really nice brush head which isn't too big, too small or too stiff.

The price of the polish is set at $12.88USD but on sale right now for $5.99USD which I think is a more attainable price for the size and amount you get of the polish. It also comes in 12 beautiful shades from the silver I have, purples, blues, greens and black shades. There is definitely something for everyone with these shades, and really helps spice up some nail art.

Depending on the look your trying to achieve you could definitely use one coat of polish, although two gives off the best results. It dries really quickly and application is neat and not streaky. The first layer is quite sheer but the second gives off the perfect vibe of holo-goodness.

1 coat                                                               2 coats

I would rate this polish a...
4.5/5
I only took off a half point because the bottle is quite smaller then what I'm used to although for born pretty products it is about the same size as some of their other polishes. The sale price does help make this a purchase that you will love and not one that will hurt your pocket later.

The formula goes on smooth and non streaky, and you don't need to load up the brush at all. It is for sure something i would recommend to anyone looking for a really cool and unique way to pump up their nail art or even just to have a gorgeous manicure.

[Beauty Haul] Keautystore.com

As promised I am writing about my amazing experience with Keautystore.com and the wonderful items I purchased! As I had mentioned in my last lens review, I had recently made a purchase of 4 items off of their website for the first time since the company switched names and moved to Korea. Needless to say, their service was stellar! The few I came into contact with were very helpful with any problems I had, and all emails were answered within 24 hours.

I have always kept a watchful eye over all of their new products coming through the store, as well as prices on their amazing hair pieces and makeup. After purchasing a set of clip in hair extensions from the original shop, I was hooked. Finally a few weeks ago I decided to get a replacement pair since I had worn the originals to death.

$20.28 CAD

While looking through the hair section, I also found a gorgeous clip in ponytail hair piece as well as a bun up do hair piece on sale. I figure I needed these since my short hair has been driving me crazy. I cant even make a proper bun T__T.

$29.70 CAD

The last thing I ordered was an eyebrow razor since I have also taken to shaving off half of my eyebrows recently. Call me crazy, but its sooo much easier drawing on the tail end of the eyebrow then shaping it... for me anyways.

$2.80 CAD

All together my total came to $64.52 (I had also ordered a pore brush, but it was out of stock), but with points collected from my previous orders as well as item reviews on their website, I received about 20 dollars off and only paid $42.74. That is with shipping included as well!

As I had mentioned before, the person I had emailed over the pore brush was extremely helpful and even tried to find the next best item on their site as a substitute. Unfortunately the only similar item was about 3 times more then I wanted to spend, so they refunded me my money back on paypal immediately, no if, ands or buts about it. Something iv always been nervous about was getting refunded from an online shop, but at Keautystore, there is absolutely no hassle!

After about a week and a half, I came home to find a large box hanging out of my mailbox from Korea. Needless to say I was thrilled and literally ran inside to see what I received. I am always super impatient while waiting for a package, and I was nervous to see how long I had to wait, but it took almost the same amount of time it would have taken from their old location in Canada. This made me a very happy camper!

It was alot nicer then this..I just kinda tore through everything right away before taking a picture :/

The box was nicely sealed with no cracks or bumps in it from its journey. Opening it I could see everything laid out neatly all packaged and only slightly bent. Everything arrived safe and sound, and I'm so happy to start using my items and post for you guys!

sooo many samples <3

If you would like to order from Keautystore.com, make sure to use my coupon code: mikkidoll to get 5% off your entire purchase! I really wouldn't be talking up this store if it wasn't worth the hype. They are definitely a company I will buy more from in the near future!

{Lens Review} Secret Brown - Keautystore.com (promo code!)

As promised I have a new circle lens review, this time sponsored by the amazing Keautystore.com (formerly Liliesshop.com). I have a two previous reviews already of the original shop which was based in Vancouver Canada until their recent move to Korea. Since their move, they have added some new products, new perks and changed their name as well.

LILIESSHOP HAIR REVIEW                           LIOELE LIP COLOUR REVIEW

I have always loved the site and frequently visited it to see all the new products that they regularly put up. I originally wanted to purchase another set of clip in hair extensions (which you can see the review on here), since mine were finally starting to get a little ratty after a year of constant use.  While going through the site I found many new items I wanted to purchase and contacted the site. After placing an order and having a pleasant conversation with one of the workers, the wait began for my items.

1 week later I came home from work to find a wonderful little package waiting for me from Korea, which was a total surprise! Upon opening the package I saw a bunch of little goodies, and a hint of bubble wrap covering something at the bottom.

When I opened up the bubble wrap I was happy to see two little Neo Cosmo lens vials and the cutest little mouse animal lens case ever!

Now onto the Review!

Secret Brown

Brand: Neo Cosmo
Price: 19.00 (pair)
Base Curve: 8.60
Diameter: 14.2
Life Span: 6-8 months

Enlargement: 2.5/5
These are probably the smallest lenses I've ever had. When having one in and one out there is hardly any difference. This would be perfect for someone who is new to circle lenses or someone that is looking for a casual everyday lens that isn't too outrageous.

Colour / Design: 3.5/5
These lenses are a gorgeous yellow colour in the vile with a bold black ring around the outside, and little dots towards the middle to help blend into your natural eye. On my eyes they turn them a really pretty deep brown with almost olive green tones. As I have naturally black eyes, some lenses make my eyes look more chocolate brown, but these ones have a really pretty, dark olive green/brown look to them.

Comfort: 3/5
For the most part these lenses are quite comfortable. I haven't worn lenses in a very long time, so my eyes are adjusting, but I can definitely see myself wearing these lenses for a full 8 hours. However they are quite drying and would need to be moistened from time to time with eye drops.

Over All: 4/5
These lenses aren't my favourite, but they are wonderful for anyone new to circle lenses or looking for a simple go to for every day. My favourite aspects are the colour it gives my eyes and the comfort. Personally I like having a bit more of a design and a larger look, but these would be perfect lenses for me to wear to work on a regular basis.

Also they were so kind as to give me a promo code for all of you wonderful readers to use!

October Favs!! -____-" super late postttt!!

These are 9 of my most used products last month! Some I will continue to use through out the next months, some are empty and need a re buy! Next month I will have a whole new batch to share my thoughts on, but for now I'll leave you with this!

Mane 'n Tail Herbal Essence line
Ive been trying to grow my hair out since cutting it short last March, and Ive been using the Mane 'n Tail products for a while. They help to thicken my hair, and actually has helped grow my hair a bit faster over time. I noticed when i first started using the original line, my hair was getting very dry and brittle, so when they came out with their Herbal Essence, Olive Oil infused products, i jumped all over that. They currently have the shampoo, conditioner as well as a leave in conditioning and protecting spray. I love the scent of these products, and so far they really help to lock the moisture into my hair. I bought them at Walmart for a fair price, and have been using them for a few weeks now.

Dollar Store Makeup Remover
This product actually doesn't have a name...it just says Mevida, Fresh Clean Cleansing Wipes...but theses makeup remover wipes/cleansers are AMAZINGGGG!!  for 1.50 you get 25 wipes of unimaginable makeup removing ability. I will do a more in depth review of these wipes later on, but they were better then most other drugstore/ salon products. Since they double as a cleanser as well, I'm super lazy I will use 2 sheets, one to remove makeup, and one to thoroughly cleans my face. Like i said, i got them from Dollarama for only 1.50!

E.L.F Candid Coral Blush (studio line)

This is my absolute favourite blush right now. Ive been wearing it pretty much everyday. It is the perfect blend of pinky orange, with gold specks for a really light and elegant girly look. It reminds me of NARS Orgasm blush, just an extremely toned down version, although you can still see the highlights from the gold specs and the pink shades. I bought this from Target for 3 dollars. (You can also find it on the elf website.)
E.L.F Tinted Moisturiser (studio line)
Like the blush, this is a product iv been wearing nearly every day. Its a sheer to medium coverage tinted moisturiser in the colour Sand, and it fits my complexion almost too perfectly...sometimes I cant remember where i have already applied it. It keeps my face moisturised and does a good job of covering all my blemishes without making me cakey or fake looking. It also has an spf of 20, so it acts as the perfect light coverage for summer or winter. I bought this from Target as well for 3 dollars. (Also available on the elf site.)

Joe Fresh Liquid Liner
Another one of my absolute favourite items in my makeup bag. This small pen like liner makes perfect shapes, and consistent lines. The felt tip is flexible and easy on the eyelids, so it doesn't feel like its scraping your face off. The black liner is extremely deep and perfect for an edgy look. The liner stays on all day once it dries after application, and doesn't smudge or melt away. At only 6 dollars from Joe Fresh its something i couldn't pass up.

Rimmle Tri Colour Eye Shadow (621 Orion)
I never really had any neutral brown shadows until i picked up this one from Shoppers Drug Mart. Since I'm already brown, I didn't think i needed / could wear brown tones properly, but i found this wonderful shadow trio. Each colour actually shows up and contours my eyes wonderfully. The colours give off a very sophisticated and mature look, but can be mixed and changed to do anything from a super simple daytime look, to an edgy night time smokey eye. I bought this one on sale for around 4 dollars.

Diane Lai Rejuvenate Moisturiser
Since its getting cooler, my face is becoming dryer during the day, so I thought it would be a good time to get a light daytime moisturiser. I have combination skin depending on the months, so this all natural moisturiser from Diane Lai was the perfect thing.  It comes in an easy to use pump, which gives you the appropriate amount, and a very light non sticky base for you to layer makeup onto. It works wonderfully with my elf tinted moisturiser, acting almost as a primer, evening out the surface of my skin and making a great base to work from. This was actually gifted, so as of right now I'm not too sure where to get it from or the retail price.

Biotin
Along with the Mane 'n Tail products, I have been taking this vitamin supplement for long healthy hair growth. The bottle says it helps with the metabolism, but many people have been using this product specifically for healthy hair and nails, and i have jumped on the band wagon. I take one pill a day with a meal, and wait for the magic to happen. I'm not sure if it has been working much, although my hair has grown at an abnormally steady rate, although this could be due to many different factors. I bought these from Shoppers Drugmart on sale 9 dollars per 90 pills.

The Body Shop Almond Body Butter
This I can honestly say is an AMAZING product. The smell is amazing and it makes your skin so silky and smooth and just delicious. Yes...it makes your skin delicious...not edible though...shhh. At first its a little overwhelming and heavy, but i use this product on very dry areas in serious need of moisture and only at night after a shower. In the morning the area(s) are soft supple and almost moisture filled to the touch! I bought this from the Body Shop for 9 dollars.

If there are any items you readers would like thoroughly reviewed let me know and ill do my best to oblige. Stay tuned for my next post, a haul as well as my Leibster Award Questions ect. Thanks for reading!! Have a great night! :)

QUICK SURVAY!! Would you buy stuff if i had a Blog Sale??
